dangoldman 0 Posted May 24, 2006 i have been told before by people that there is just too much black in the picture, but i still like it for that same reason. What say you? ratings, comments and critique are welcome, and the latter of the3 are of course appreciated, no matter the nature Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted May 24, 2006 Its called a SILHOUETTE. Tell those people to look the term up - and then show them this picture, an excellent example of one, and very approporiate, I think! Good work - and in the end, remember - ITS YOUR PHOTO! Link to comment
k5083 1 Posted May 26, 2006 As you already know, Dan, I like this picture. But one reason I like it is the little bit of light on the starboard wing, and I can see there are faint traces of light on the port wing and the white of the insignia as well. If those could be brought up just a bit, I think it would take on a 3D quality that I personally would like better than the pure silhouette. Incidentally, I saw this particular Corsair last weekend. What a beauty. Link to comment
gromoslawpirx 0 Posted May 30, 2006 I like that photo. Leave it alone and be happy. The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit, is the sky being too dark. This however is only my opinion. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted May 30, 2006 Thanks everyone for the comments. August, one reason i did not brighten it up is that if i brigthen it, everything gets brightened and i think it looses a litle of its 'prescence', of justting out into the frame. Link to comment
k5083 1 Posted May 30, 2006 Yeah, I know what you mean Dan. I was working on my Bearcat pic like this that you commented on, and it is very difficult to manipulate it so that the blacks stay black, but the almost-blacks are lightened just enough. The only way is to use the "curves" function which takes a lot of effort to master. This is really fine as is. Link to comment
