seven 0 Posted April 28, 2006 I like those lines on the floor, how they introduce the idea of the linear into the scene (the left brain/ right brain juxtaposition.) I especially enjoy the anchor moment which for me is trying to figure out what the dancer on the floor is seeing & thinking (clearly there's unspoken contact with the mystery being in the fg.) Here I very much like the fact the fg dancer has no upper body, it makes the shot because we really can't try to make up our minds what the girl on the floor is experiencing, we lack the requisite information. There's something about the straight edge of the door(?) in the bg - it works, and I wonder if that has something to do with the straight court-like lines.Best photo I've seen today - very strong composition. atkphotoworks 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Pnina, I particularly like the toning here. I like the interplay between the two subjects. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 28, 2006 The door is parallel to the wide white line( starting under the seating dancer) and imo gives more ballance to the composition. Thanks for your two comments, I see a very sharp and great observation of details! I'm sure you will have the energy and vitality.... to come WITH ME( not as my shadow....lol) to the wonderful dance project! Thanks for your comments that are very much appreciated. colin carron 58,916 Posted April 28, 2006 I feel a sense of tension, both physical - in the pose of the legs - and in the connection between the two people. The feeling of space is strong helped by the floor lines. The toning and colour is good though I wonder whether a more direct b&w approach might be better for publication. Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted April 28, 2006 A complete composition Pnina. There is a palpable connection between both subjects. Great foreground details and toning as well. The white lines add "drama" to your composition also. Regards, Kelvin. Link to comment
chips2 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Pnina I like this one a lot you can feel the energy inside the image. The level of understanding between the teacher & student . Very well seen. Beautiful work. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 28, 2006 Colin, Kelvin and Chipsy, I appreciate your feedback which is importent. Colin, I tried B/W, that color range is better imo. Chipsy, it is a choreograph and a dancer that are working together on a new dance. Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Don't you dare cross that line!!! The interesting part of her expression is that it leads me to read his even though I cannot see his face. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 28, 2006 The lines are used as part of composition, so it stays like this.Your interpretation is right she is getting a demonstration. The whole process is fascinating, I'm all in it.....Thanks, I appreciate your following. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted April 28, 2006 For me, this is the best of the last three submissions. You should write a poem to accompany this image. Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted April 29, 2006 i agree with Howard. the anonymous leggs convey a lot of authority. the white line provides unexpected structure. and the sepia toning works for me. one of the best in the whole series, IMHO. Link to comment

sophiafield 0 Posted May 22, 2006 I really like this image a lot, the color tone goes really well with the texture of the floor, which I love, interesting flooring. And of course the light colored lines on the floor adds so much to the image.Excellent PoV. :)Sophia Link to comment
