Wow. That's nice. The figure is perfectly placed in the lightest spot. And the diagonal lighting is very nice. Great clouds. Great location!

Beautiful composition with a very good light / shadows play. Lovely sky. I feel that this is certainly a great place with a lot of photograph potential.

The first thing that struck me was the great exposure!! Of course a great composition too. It is so hard to get a good exposure of the sky in a situation like this and still keep so much detail in the foreground. The fact that it was early morning and the sun being at an angle might've helped too. I like how the sun is lighting and illuminating part of the area making it more dramatic. As usual you've found the best angle! I would appreciate it if you could please tell me how you metered for this and did you get any help from PS curves at all? Thanks Sondra.

Since it was a difficult shot I took a trial photo, looked at the histogram, then went from there. Edited in PS to get the correct tonal values. Cheers, Sondra

One of the nicest images from Arches that I've seen. The lighting is beautiful. Having the figure in the opening is the perfect final touch. Did you wait for that to happen, or did you just happen to catch him/her there?

I agree with Lou. Never seen an image like this of this most-often photpgraphed site.The choice of tone and composition is commendable.

The B&W just has a magic to it that doesn't come across in the color version. The sky looks unreal, and well, it's just magical! (that's as technical as I get, sorry) This is wonderful!
