Catching Air

I waited up on a side ridge while Jeff climbed above me then skied

down at sunset. I put my Canon Powershot S80 in contionus mode so I

wouldn't miss a move so I managed to catch him at just the right

moment.

I am surprised nobody commented yet on such a beautiful picture.

I like the fact that it is not just a capture of the athletic movement, as it will be a tight crop of the skier, but still retains lots of environmental information to it.

The ridge, the darker background of the valley, the warm light, the traces of skis...lots of small hints to a backcountry adventure.

Coming to the subject in itself, it is well located in the frame, the timing is superb and the shadow of the snow is the icing on the cake.
