aepelbacher 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Biron, France - the first of several images of details from this walled castle city in the countryside of the Dordogne region of Southwest France. If you have time, please check out my wide angled image of the whole city: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo? photo_id=4358461 Thank you for your time, your comments, and your ratings! aepelbacher 0 Posted April 24, 2006 In my first post from Biron, I mentioned that I would be uploading several detail images from this particular Chateau. I really loved all of the nuances in the architecture in this place. The decorative work on the tops of the walls in the castle was wonderful, and the colors of the stones used in all of the buildings worked so well together. It was just a gorgeous place ... and I obviously had a gorgeous day. If you haven't looked at the wide image of the entire city, please check out that previous post. As always, any thoughts or comments or ratings that you have for me are greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time! Link to comment
kleintje 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Lou Ann, I'm a softy for old castles (ruins or not). I can wander around in those places for hours and hours and your series of photos really make me want to go out and visit some of these places... This one, again, has some beautiful shapes and colours in it. Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted April 29, 2006 I like the strong stonework contrasted with the delicate flowers - nice! Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Good job on handling the exposure under bright sun conditions. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Beautiful stonework. I wish there was a little more definition between the background and the wall over the arch. I wonder if you could burn it in a bit, or blur it some to create that.... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Linda, that was my main problem with this shot. But, unfortunately, my PS skills aren't there yet. I'm working on them, though ... maybe someday. :-) Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I like it brighter :o) with less contrast and more of a square crop to emphasize the lighting contrasts. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted June 29, 2006 A beautiful detail, very representative of that wonderful light we have in the summer in France, and of the medieval castles you can find all over the country. This one is beautiful. BTW, I live near Paris, but my family name, Lacoste, is originated in the Dordogne region, in Perigueux. I was in the Burgundy region last summer, and visited wonderful castles and abbeys and cathedrals from the middles-ages. Link to comment
