I appreciate the compliment.

Did you look at the other one. It's essentially the same composition, but with quite a different meaning, I think.

I think just the eyes and color of the skin can have great meaning.

Thanks for the compliment.

I think it has some social meaning/context also, especially in view of the problems in Paris's bainlieus (suburbs) regarding race relations and France's proclamation of 'egalite' (equality) but it inability or refusal to assimilate its African and/or black population.

What do you think?

(It's in marked contrast to my previous post with almost the same composition, isn't it?)

John, you sure are well travelled, is it work related, or are you a man of leisure?

Although I prefer your previous version (because of the dichotomy of class/social background), I love the expression on this womans face - I'm quite torn between the two actually.

Polyester wash and wear, to be precise.

I just take a camera wherever I go and actually don't photograph all that much; my Paris photos were taken in three of four days total, but I was VERY PROLIFIC -- I just saw eveything anew.

I had been in Paris many times, but never with a camera, and it looks entirely different when you have a good camera or two and several good lenses.

So, this photo was taken with my other Paris photos, all in the same few-day period a while ago and is not the result of a great deal of travel. I have from time to time lived abroad, however, and often am strictly house-bound, getting out not at all some days, and a few hours or an hour just some days.

You gotta go with what you got and I make the most of what I got. If I can barely walk, blood blisters (or the other kind) on my toes, knees aching, neck and back killing me, sore all over, if I'm in a place like Paris I try to make an effor to go out and take a few photos -- it's the opportunity to do something that I can never replicate.

So, I'm a man of leisure (suits -- wash and wear -- polyester variety.) I'm that haggard guy, burdened down with cameras whose shirt is rumpled who seems preoccupied with something that nobody else can see, and it's because I'm taking your photo with the poster behind you, but you don't realize that because I try not to telegraph that to you, for fear you'll either ham it up or move on out of my frame.

Thank you Anatolij.

(Glad you liked it so much for such a high rating -- I never look at rates before replying to comments -- it might be too inhibiting.)

You know my mental picture of you has taken a bizarre turn now John ;)

You have taken a successful look into my bizarre, twisted psyche.

Congratulations.

That's why I take such interesting photos.

Would you want to take a look into Picasso's mind, or any of the surrealists, and what about PN creativist Saturnino Espin? (not equating myself with them -- for illustration purposes only)
