samfoto 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Herman: I truely enjoy your analytic thinking here, rather than trying to take in the entirety of it all you have reduced this entirety to its three primary forces: architectural structure, botanical structure and the more etherial structural skyscape. These contrasts are visually captivating as well as encouraging the viewer to consider the relitive contrasts you have offered up. It is a pro-active perceptual work. For example I think of the three forces in a progressive state of solidity: the architecture being the most solid, the botanics progressing to a less solid structure, then of course the ether. This is but one example of how this work begs the viewer to actively engage in the act of perception. I'm certain there are far more creative readings of this image.
