You can see a little of the spines on the cactus and boy, do they hurt if you get stuck with one! The bees were going nuts inside these flowers as they were thick with pollen.

With my very limited exposure to arid climates, I have never seen cactus flowers. What a wonderful shot here, Kim. Great colors, and I love that they have the spines. They're pretty, but they mean business! :-) Thanks for sharing this!

Nicely done, Kim. The lighting and exposure on this are great. Well - composed and framed, too.

Best Regards,

Thanks to all of you. We actually brought home a couple of the pads so we'll see if we can get an orange cactus to grow in our yard. We have yellow everywhere, but not orange.
