Robert, I am intrigued by your framing. It is a nice presentation and reminds me of an image silk-screened on a metal plate. I think the tree would be more "tree-like" if it was a little more prominent in the vertical - cropping a little from the top of the frame. Keep those creative juices flowing! - Jerry

Robert,

This is an intriguing shot, and the framing is a good match. The comparative scale of the trees is throwing me off a bit, but the concept is good, as are the tones in the shot.

Thanks for the comments. Jerry, you are right about too much space at the top. Before I expanded the canvas to give the "floating" look, the image is better balanced. After adding the extra space and since the top lacks a definable border, too much headroom shows up. Good call.

Sherwin, the smaller trees are actually in the distance but the detail that would have provided depth was removed when I converted it to a silhouette. I considered removing them, but they reminded me of young sprouts watching an old geezer on his last legs.

Thanks again for both comments.

Robert,

This is a beautiful shot. I like a lot of aspects of it, but just to comment on the framing, very nice. If you're going to try decreasing the amount of space at the top, try also increaseing the amount of space too. Might look good.

Kind regards,

Nathan

I will give this a try as well. Thanks for the comments and suggestion. By the way, New Zealand is one of my favorite places and I hope to return someday.
