grillot 0 Posted April 19, 2006 The landscape in Georgia is littered with these abandoned farm houses..This one very likely saw Sherman walk near on his march to the sea. This was shot in the morning facing west while on the way to work. Let me know your ideas to improve. Link to comment
lisicica 0 Posted April 19, 2006 I like the atmosphere of the photo, tho I think it's been cropped too tightly and it should represent a contrast of an open field against the abandoned cabin, or at least that's what I imagine. Link to comment
grillot 0 Posted April 19, 2006 I agree.. I took several contrasting variously the big sky and the field as you suggest.. I hope to post others. This one was chosen for the perspective.. thanks for your comment. Link to comment
roger_kallet 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Neal, Very nice period picture. A couple of comments if you have PS: (1) Level the horizon. Counter clockwise a few degrees should do the trick, (2) Create a duplicate layer and make the Blend mode Screen. This will lighten-up the picture and bring out a lot of good detail and texture in the lower-value mid-tones. Your subject matter is very interesting and the scattering of wild flowers around the base of the building all add to this fine picture. Roger Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Neal, I'll put in my 2 cents worth, as far as this picture is concerned, I wouldn't change a thing, but can't help wanting to see the flowers up close....Jim Link to comment
grillot 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Thank you.. Photoshop is sooo big, I tend to learn something specific then try.. and inch forward. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted April 22, 2006 Neal, the perspective if great, and I agree with the others that being a bit further away would be better. However, if you do get further away be sure to keep as low to the ground as you can to keep this wonderful perspective. Link to comment
grillot 0 Posted April 22, 2006 agreed.. this is a new lens that I want to take advantage of wide angle. Link to comment
