pjmeade

Raw file set at two exposures to give a better sky.Sky was enhanced after more "eye candy" was requested. Changes to the fields on the hill have also been made.

I have reprocessed the original view from Wittenham Clumps to enhance

the clouds and even out the colour on the hill. I hope you like it.

Thanks for your interest.

A beautiful place well captured Peter. This looks like a place where I can run with the warm sun and soft wind blowing in my face. The grass looks plush and soft. Very beautiful.

Hello Peter Lovely minimalistic landscape! I like the faraway hills , giving the image the feeling of space. cheers Jana

Yes, I think it is still better with the more dramatic sky. Good tones and composition. Would be interesting to see also with some rays of light striking part of the field ....

Very nice composition, better than the previous with the more dramatic sky. What do you think if the distant land was hiden by the hill ?

Hello all, thanks for looking and for your very valuable comments.

Henri, the expidition to go back and photograph from a different perspective is in hand. I tried removing the horizon but it's beyond my abilities; the trees just don't look right.

Nice photo Peter. I prefer this version over the other one, some of your 'brush strokes' are apparent to me in this where you join the sky and foreground, I'd suggest using a strong blur on the layer mask to remove it, and possibly cut into the 'milky' area a bit to reduce the halo above the ground - BUT this may remove some of the 'feel' from it.

Peter, it is not very difficult to hide the horizon. You just have to select the hill and the tree (try different values of tolerance and progressivity) and after that, you move the selection up untill it covers the background. If you want to keep the same format, you now have to stretch the hill towards down. That's all.

I like this quieteness and serenity of bot these images. This one does add the more dramatic sky, therefore more impact. Both great images. I also took the liberty of a small crop to the left. I am not sure that it makes it better, rather a different view. See what you think.

Ciao. Marco

Peter, a very well captured shot with a fine sky and a strong composition. I like the light over the background landscape.

I have been trying to get a shot like this for some time so I know it is not easy. Tree & hill selection is important. Then as it has been done many times before you need great light to pull it off. You have captured some great light here. Kudos.
