jc11664880155 0 Posted April 18, 2006 this photo i'll vote 7/7 my attitude is like simon cowell of the american idol. bad photo is a bad photo. great photo is great photo whether you hate me or love me thats my attitude..... this is a very mysterious image. you don't know what the girl is thinking. her facial expression speak a thousand words. i thought its a cover of a movie campaign. great contrast, great tone. can compete head on with the photos of the great russian photographer in this site. i like the square format. please forgive my english.... bogdan_dumitru 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Bravo, Alon! A very nice, bending-the-rules portrait. She's not super-sharp, but that works superbly here. The light is nothing less than perfect. Very good use of dynamic range. Amazing expression you caught, she seems to remember something sweet and long forgotten. Very, but very good framing. A lovely portrait, I'd look at it all day. Again, I need to say thank you for visiting my work. I continue to feel extremely honored by your ratings and words, they encourage me to go out and shoot more. Shall you have a second, would you look at my last submission, rate and maybe leave a critique if time permits? I got this flower alone in the dark and these drops of light. I would be very happy to know your thoughts by your ratings and maybe critiques. See you on PN and congrats for another great capture, --Bogdan Link to comment
sabina dorneanu 0 Posted April 19, 2006 What a marvelous portrait, Alon! The "darkness" is a stroke of magic, but mostly I like her mysterious gaze, so very puzzling. She's got a Monalisa look here, I mean her smile and gaze could mean anything. Beautiful! S. Link to comment

michaelhills 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Alon, this capture immediately caught my attention. Like many of your portrait work, it is imbued with emotion, a sense of story, and life. I like the square format and I feel it works well here. Personally, I feel that her nose is given a little too much prominence in the frame - it is the brightest region of the image. That might have been your intent, and it was and you are happy with it, then disregard my comment :) Do you feel that the frame is a little too tight around her? Or, it is delibrate to enhance the impression of the title? I have attached an alternative crop just for fun. What do you think? Loses something from your original? Alon, I hope you do not mind my comments, I just like discussing photography and find that I learn considerably from this process. Till later, M :) Link to comment
alones 1 Posted April 20, 2006 Hi Michael . I really don't mined . The "Alternative crop " you propose is very interesting . There is always something to learn and different attitudes , Thanks Link to comment
