Good capture. The trio of heads and the arms are so interesting that I wonder whether a tighter crop is in order, to focus attention more precisely on the postures and her pained expression. I downloaded it and tried cropping out the water bottle and most of the flat surface in front, and I think it works.

This really is a beautiful capture of something deeply human.

I had three thoughts. The first was to preserve the whole context but just crop out the arm of the girl at left. The second (attached) you may find elminates part of the context. The third (next attachment) is more radical.

This one is an 8 x 10. Not a crop of the original so much as an alternative version.

Howard, again a great expression ! and scene. Interesting what Chris did, I like his first crop, but I would not crop the bottle it gives some context, so I cloned only the part of a figure on the left in order to enhance that corner, I like it very much.

I like Chris' "2nd crop" (did I miss the first?) ... but it bothers me that her eyes are shut. I always love the expressiveness of children's eyes. Regardless, you can certainly see the frustration in her face!!

Funny how the different crops all give a different feel to this. Takes you right back to standing in line as a kid and the brat behind shoving you forward.

Hi Howard Dion, Excellent picture. It's defenitly touching, but I can get the main Idea, ehat is the context or the reason of the expression ?

Thank you.

I can't decide which crop I prefer either, they all give the viewer a little different perspective feel. Super DOF & tonal range on the B&W. Love the expression. As Kim states, takes me back to grade school, I remember those "brats" :) Oops....I think I was one of them :)
