Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 17, 2006 Great shot. I don't know how much processing you did in PS but the end result is great. The geometric divisions are really interesting. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 17, 2006 I was out for a walk the other day, enjoying the cherry trees and, at an intersection, noticed sneakers on wires in both directions. I hadn't seen that before, and was amused by the symmetry. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 17, 2006 Thanks. Post-processing was a 1) a mild crop: to remove a bit of a fourth wire in the upper right and some tree branches at the lower edge (the one penalty of using primes); 2) slight curve adjustment to match the print; and 3) the border. I'll attach a reduced-size version of the original scan. Sometimes a predominately cloudy sky is pretty interesting, I think. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 17, 2006 I like what've youve done with the original shot. Definitely a plus to remove the branches (looked like hairs). I've never been so lucky as to see two pairs of shoes hanging on intersecting wires. I did find a tree covered in shoes once but didnt get a decent shot. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 17, 2006 Something like this? They're evidently more common than I realized; this is one in rural Oregon. Thanks for stopping by! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 17, 2006 holy schmoly. where is this, it could be the same damn tree. Rural Oregon as in outside John Day? You dont have any photos of a teapot garden border from Fossil do you? Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 17, 2006 Too damn funny! I'll bet it is. It's on US 20 near Juntura, Oregon, and is reported on roadsideamerica.com, along with more. Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted April 17, 2006 SUPER picture Don! But you have some strange rites over there ... is this to appease the goddess of intersections? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 17, 2006 Hi Don, somebody saved using a hanger.... is it you ...LOL? well composed! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 17, 2006 I'll have to drive out and get a good photo of the tree I know about. Probably wont happen until summer though. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 18, 2006 Andrea, thank you for your kind compliment. Strange rites, indeed. Would a goddess truly be appeased by old athletic shoes? Doesn't sound like any women I know. ;-)Pnina, this I'm innocent of. Glad you like it.Knicki, no rush; I've driven past this tree several times over a number of years (I prefer roads like US 20 to freeways), and it's always been there. Last time, it had a sign saying:A Bearing TreeNo Cherries or PeachesJust a Few Pairs! Link to comment
