sarahunderhill 1 Posted April 16, 2006 Nice Howard. I like her eyes closed and the background of the other girl...well done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 16, 2006 Excellent. I'm mentally comparing what it'd be like with her eyes open, and I think it works better the way you've shot it. The thoughtful, eyes-shut expression juxtaposed with the silly fun of the face painting take this to a higher level. The background is blurred to just the right degree. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 16, 2006 Well composed Howard, the result in the FG. and the action, blured in the bg. Her closed eyes are interesting as it enable to see the painting done only.Good scene, light and B/W. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 16, 2006 strange on the thumbnail view when leaving comment the photo has a screen type pattern over it. I like the angles, the front brush and the back brush in use are repeating the black triangle in the background. The back girl's elbow is parallel with the front girls face giving depth. Apparently, the person painting this girls face is wearing a straw hat or something along those lines. I think it would be better with more or less of the hat. We only see a sliver of the painter and I would like to see a smidge more of a sliver to add that person in the frame. Link to comment
alexandra rauh 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Howard,I like the combination of the still holding finished painted girl, with,on the otherside the activity continues.Very good Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Great shot! I love the DOF ... the brush in the foreground really pops out from the other stuff going on directly behind it. It must have been fun watching these kids get their faces painted. :-D Hope you're well!! Link to comment
hanna_v 0 Posted April 22, 2006 I agree with Wilson! could be a murder mystery, a cliff-hanging scene, when you can see the pistol slow-going towards... BUT NO, it is a lovely scene, where you can see a child, painted like a cat... that's the tension here! :-)) Link to comment
