Do you know the famous Depression-era picture by Margaret Bourke-White of Blacks in a breadline with a billboard behind them showing a happy (White) American family driving in their car? The irony there was so thick you could have spread it on a hotdog instead of the mustard. This photo kind of echoes that one, without the breadline, of course. But in some ways the grim, expressionless faces of this family speak of a new modern day malaise, a Depression of the American spirit, of a time of shattered hopes and illusions. Perhaps I'm reading too much into the picture, but those were my thoughts. Regards, Jack Link to comment
