home page1 0 Posted April 14, 2006 This is as close and as large an image of these tiny flowers as I could get with the Canon 100 2.8 macro and the Canon 5D. The 1.6x magnification factor is gone with the Canon 5D but, with almost 50% more resolution, the image can be closely cropped without loss of detail and make up for the loss of magnification with the smaller sensors, such as the 20D. This is especially true at ISO 50, something that the 20D does not offer. I was skeptical but now I'm convinced, at least with macros. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Great choice of cropping, Ken - really makes the shot go from ordinary to extraordinary. Good control of the whites/yellows as nothing is blown out. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Wonderful compositional crop, outstanding detail & such glorious color. I can see this one hanging on the wall :) I love the accents in the pedals, reminds me of a "tiger". :) Nature is so interesting, obviously this flower has to attract a lot of bees :) Link to comment
