andy_clifford 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Superb! Has many interesting elements to this image. What I enjoy is the relationship between the art displayed in the background and the activity going on in the forground. Link to comment

dchatter 0 Posted April 14, 2006 Fantastic moment you've captured my friend... this is a wonderful picture... there is action, there is emotion, drama, baby-mischief, all combined to lend a wonderful touch. Lovely grain and tones here. A pleasure to share. Best regards. Link to comment
mindstormphotos 0 Posted May 11, 2006 Tom keys..view larger i wrote ,cos what can you see ? as a thumbnail from "rate photos" ..about Socrates and the potentially boring scene oh !well ..no comment..period .--------- My friends and enemies what i cannot digest is the anonymity (big mistake mr PN)..5 3/3s for this photograph (i think there is a catch here)..this is professional photography , a lively scene not a static one ,is not an easy photo ..one of my best here in PN..and so what if it,s mine i do believe is great documentary photography...So many "photographers" here in PN claim that they want to learn..i am challenge you for a dialoque and criticism on this image . Thank you Biplab-Andrew-Debasish-Andrija-Michael-Novus-Andreas-Ioannis-Dirk - Kaushik for your discernment..My best regards Markos . .......ps: i wonder why some of the best photographers they left this site or stop posting....i wonder Link to comment
novus1 0 Posted May 13, 2006 The photographer's reality. He took the material from a real scene and he created his own scene. This is photography. This is what the grand masters of photography did. andreas d. 0 Posted May 14, 2006 Nice documentary picture which i'm sure the people involved will treasure as years go by.For me the merit of this picture is mostly the originality of the composition and the ability of the photographer to capture a great and spontaneous moment out of the ordinary boring baptism pictures. novus1 0 Posted May 17, 2006 Dear Tom I' ll try to explain, (using unfortunately my poor English), why I believe that this photograph is good. 1. Rules of thirds seem to work here. The strongest optical part of the image, the boy's face is in the best point of the frame. 2. The man's profile is corresponding with the other man's on the right. The baby's face is corresponding with the woman's. 3. The background gives the information - where and how, without optical noise. 4. The quality of b/w is good. I don't think that this is a coincidental shot but a choice of the photographer. P.S. I believe that I am not the naive spectator who finds good every photograph of this kind. I' m really fond of the creative dialogue. Cheers, George Link to comment
ioannis papadogiannis 0 Posted May 20, 2006 I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY, BUT I THINK A GOOD PHOTO IS NOT THE ONE THAT FOLLOWS THE ROOLS OR THE ONE THAT IT WAS TAKEN WITH MOTORDRIVE OR WITHOUT A MOTORDRIVE, I BELIEVE A GOOD PHOTO IS THE ONE THAT AWAKES EMOTIONS TO THE VIEWER. I THINK THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PHOTO. I AM SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH. MARKO MAKARI NA HTAN O GIOS MOY SE AYTHN THN PHOTO. GIANNIS Link to comment
dievee 0 Posted May 24, 2006 This is photography that I love, it's full of life, it's strong, it's layered and more then one thing is happening. Capturing all this together and even come up with a fine composition makes this pure class, bravo! Link to comment
kaushikphotography 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I don't know how to judge this one for your work. I have gone through all the comments here and only I will say everybody has his likings of judging and accepting the art in their own estmeed way. Regarding this one, its very much lively to me. Reasons are1. The great moment.2. The tonal range with grainy effects.3. The passion in it.4. The innocent action of the baby.5. The composition and the B/W presentation.6. The light use. .................... So many can be added in the list.I believe photography is an art and who knows how to draw and paint can make a difference. Focusing on any thing who can come up with a fine composition is becomes a winner. Yours is purely the same. Great one. I like it. Rgds. Link to comment
mmene 0 Posted June 1, 2006 Marko Bravo.this is a shot on the right timing, from the right angle, with excellent B&W and first of all live.Do NOT try to explain SOCRATES to colorful digitalized pre-configured minds.I am very happy with 3 ratings in many photos of mine. That means that some of us are different and let the time to decide.Do not try to explain Mathematic Analysis to persons that use only their calculator and that's all. I was enjoying Igmar Bergman in the early sixties. Finally he was accepted even by the Great studios. But he insists to make pictures not for the masses. If a cow rate 7 or 6 this photo you must be unhappy. But I like cows and they are usefull.Sometimes they get mad and put the blame on HUMAN KNOWLEGE.klase tous kai proxora.Oi ageladarides tha einai panta voski.Filika Mihalis.Visit my last photo JAIL.Protos bathmos 7-7,deyteros 6-7.Arxisa na anisixo.Eytyxvs hrthan kai ta 3aria.
