timberwulf 0 Posted April 8, 2006 I really like the effects applied here. I get the impression of an older oil painting. I like the square format, it really draws the eye down to the figure standing at the water's edge. Wonderful job! Link to comment
frivera 0 Posted April 8, 2006 That odd sky is the matter of this image, whose protagonist is undoubtably the centered figure and her shadow. Link to comment
josef_cancik 0 Posted April 8, 2006 I like these photos which shelters some feel. This behoove for longer viewing. + nice effect7/7 Link to comment
lupine 0 Posted April 8, 2006 Excellent image, Lars! Really well done. It obviously feels like a painting. Just enough effect, not overdone. Great color palette, great feel, I would agree regarding the centered image, it really works for this shot. The steps in the sand add a nice mystery and create a story within the image. I will be visiting your portfolio to see what other images you have. You should be very proud of this shot, it really conveys emotion. Great work! Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted April 8, 2006 Great tones, good PS work, I do like the overall image. I agree it is similar to an oil painting...which adds volumes to the mood. This is what digital is bringing us, a new art form where we can paint our own picture if we so desire. A plain raw image is fine right out of the camera, but artists and photographers alike should respect this. Good work and best regards, Michael. Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I love the lighting and the textured effect. Is there any chance that you could describe the workflow on this? I like the square format very much. Shooting mostly 35mm film format and recently digital SLR, I am surprised at how often I choose the square crop. My son has a Yashicamat TLR that I should ask to borrow sometime but digital is sooooo convenient that I may never get around to it. At any rate, good photography is good regardless of the format or hardware. This is very good to say the least. Link to comment

stp 6 Posted April 10, 2006 Wonderfully intriguing image. The footsteps in the sand are just as important as the central figure, in my mind. The effect in the sky is also excellent. Superb image, with a lot going on and a lot to think about. Link to comment
mona_chrome 0 Posted April 10, 2006 I think this is a very compelling image. When I look at your portfolio and this is by far my favorite of you shots. Many of the others are maybe a bit predictable and a lot less loaded as images. There are a couple of others that approach this tho. Generally, i am not into a lot of added textures, but this is wonderful and just has an incredible power to it. Even all the footprints just help the story. The colors are wonderful in completing this story vignette. i like this a lot. Link to comment
nathan_ross 0 Posted April 11, 2006 The not-centred version is nice too, but not as nice as this. This is a great shot. Just superb. Link to comment
