kslonaker 0 Posted April 8, 2006 PLEASE VIEW LARGER - smaller version seems to have artifacts. Comments? Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted April 9, 2006 The colours and background are very good. In the thumb size version the bird disappears into the background but looking at the shot again (and LARGER) I can see that it works much better as the image size increases. A beautiful shot and I like the framing. (interesting selection of ratings on this one...) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Some people just don't seem to like bird shots, Colin. Thanks for visiting. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted April 9, 2006 It's a real beauty, Kim.... Who doesn't like bird shots? Your bird shots are masterpieces...!!! Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Thanks, guys. Even though I have hundreds of hummingbirds shots, I never get tired of photographing them. Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Nice composition & perfect DOF, but I especially love the one-legged dance :) He seems to be showing off his ability to balance on one leg. "Hey Mom! Look.....one leg!" :)You clicked just right! Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Good eye, Jayme, I didn't notice the leg until you mentioned it. . You make this look so easy Kim, I feel lucky if I can find a hummingbird. . . last fall I hung up a feeder and planted a hummingbird bush and they didn't find them. . . I guess it depends which way the wind blows. . . Great color and DOF. . . Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted April 15, 2006 The larger version is quite spectacular. I really like when bird shots have some action to them. Your timing here was perfect. As Jayme said, the colors and the background are nice and make for a pleasing scene. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 15, 2006 Thanks, you all. This little guy just loves hanging around, perching. Link to comment
gerry_bridge1 0 Posted April 16, 2006 I will ALWAYS like your bird shots, Kim. You must have the patience of a saint. My new home is very close to a bird sanctuary and when I've tried shots like these they seem to fly away just as I press the shutter. Even thought of smearing glue on the branches to hold them still! Nice one. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 16, 2006 Gerry, it does take patience and luck to get decent bird shots. I have more shots of flying tail feathers than I care to admit! :) Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted April 16, 2006 Very good bird shot, the sharp detail against the background bokeh is nice ! Your patience paid off ;-) Link to comment
