hiroya 0 Posted April 10, 2006 I visited Bruce's website and found that you have captured his characteristic works very well. Simple and strong composition! Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted April 10, 2006 I should've included a link. His site is www.brucewestsculptures.com. The steles are in the "Free Standing" category; this one's Stainless Stele #2. I drive by it frequently, and have long appreciated that it's sited with a clearing to the west, enabling it to catch the warm light of the late afternoon sun (on clear days, anyway). Steel's reflectivity makes an outdoor setting, with its ever-changing light, synergistically magical for such a sculpture. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 10, 2006 Don, haven't visited in a while. This is a real beauty and a fine abstract of an abstract (I guess) sculpture. Link to comment
r 0 Posted April 12, 2006 I really enjoy abstracts that have facial resemblance, this one is very strong in that regard, with an expression that is really quite peculiar. Sternly surprised confusion, with eyebrow quizzicaly reaised. Also, a nasty scar across the right eye. Don, this shot moves my imagination amazingly. Link to comment
