juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Amazing how many images this week are titled Waiting...Not as amazing as this series of wrinkles...Your tight cropping continues to work in giving the focus and respect to the wrinkles that honour these folks. Massimo, I, like many others find great pleasure in experiencing your art. It seems to me that we all share in the comfort that your subjects felt while you photograph them. Thanks for posting...Juan The Other people are those who keep comming back to look at your photos...Those who are your Photo.net brothers and sisters! Juan Link to comment

santoni 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Thanks Vitor, for the B&W processing you can take a look at this document http://www.gormanphotography.com/bw_conversion.pdf Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted April 10, 2006 Massimo: This is a lovely portrait, made more lovely by the fact that it was captured on the fly. I would argue for a B&W conversion that goes easier on the tones, though. Gorman's technique can make tone very harsh because of the way it uses the high pass filter. A little can go a real long way. I'd love to see an alternative that gives this woman a bit of tonal softness and gives us a better glimpse of those long-lived eyes. You also might be interested to read this thread. The specifics are not the same but close enough. What is interesting is how the viewers, who liked version #1, fell in love with version #2 (Marc's). Link to comment
santoni 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Thanks Patricia for your advise I've read the interesting tread . I will try soon to make a soft version of this grandmother, to improve her eyes may be difficult because are covered by the dark glasses. Link to comment
