A lonely old woman on a window... look at the 3 marriage rings.

A fine, haunting portrait, and I like the use of the balcony railing in the composition. The B&W seems a bit too contrasty, though: Her hand and the top of her head look too blown out. This should be easy to fix, if the channels are not clipped.

P.S. I've come back to view this one again several times, and it really is a stunning shot. Bravo.

What do those eyes see? You, Massimo, the photographer? Somebody else in the crowd? Perhaps the crowd itself that passes by in a world that gets faster and faster? Or something in the past, maybe a friend, maybe somebody that is no more here?

Arms and especially the hands reflect the feeling of being tired, as the weight is supported by them. But the hands also show a bit of sad acceptance that it is the way it is and nobody can change it. Two deep scars over the nose and a very neutral expression - thoughts that remain hidden for anybody, except for the sharp eye of the photographer. And the lighting enhances the expression in a natural way.
