Laurie, I like the overall feeling of this image...but I think it could stand to have a little more contrast and the blurred flowers in the bottom left are a bit distracting...she is beautiful...and I would love to see her eyes burning through your lens!

It's great to have friends who leave low ratings without comments...

It's not the best of the series but it's a nice portrait. It lacks in contrast however and it may be the reason some people didn't like it. I can see why you would want soft contrasts on the model to create a more romantic feel but maybe if you managed to have the background plants darker you would still achieve the effect while making her stand out more against the background. It may be one reason (besides the pose) why the other one (an afternoon in the park) gets better ratings. Keep shooting!

Thank you both for leaving a comment I appreaciate it! I do have some others in my portfolio of Thuy where her eyes are burning a hole in my lense! LOL...I think I'll work on this one a bit more and see if I can make it better! Thanks for the advice!

Hmmm. I think your original is better than the high-contrast tweak posted here. (Apologies). I always thought the blurred flowers in the foreground were intentional; they give the image a greater sense of motion, like this is a happened-upon moment. Likewise, the blending of Thuy with the background (in terms of contrast) is part of what I saw as the point of the image. Like she belongs there and does not stand apart from the natural setting.

Maybe I'm giving you too much credit, but I think the photo stands on its own merits as you originally posted it.

You are right! the blurred flowers were intentional. In the original I purposely posed her near them because they were vibrant and added some color to the bridge. Go ahead give me credit..I'll take it! LOL

I also wanted her to be soft...which is why I didn't sharpen her to much. When I saw this picture a mental story came to mind of a young woman got all dressed up to surprise her sweetheart and instead found the "truth", him with another woman.
