kslonaker 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Compilation of two images - shrimp boat and boat rust. Selected overlay in layers options. Actually not much PS involved. Comments? Link to comment
mattvardy 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Very cool Kim.. I enjoy this kind of shot that combines textures and colours. 5/6. I wonder how it would look if more of the boat's original colour was brought through the texture.. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Actually, Matt, I used a fairly high-key image of the boat, so it was mostly white and light colors anyway. Could go back to the original, I guess, but I was being lazy. I'm having fun with my rust picture today. It's making some interesting compilations. Thanks for visiting! Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted April 3, 2006 Hi, Kim. It looks like the "rust" corresponds roughly to where the nets would be if fully deployed. This is very dramatic and very different from what we have come to expect of you. I would like to see the original, too. --Lannie Link to comment

tholte 16,677 Posted April 3, 2006 Funky and I like the color scheme and composition. Would look good blown up and hanging on a wall in a million dollar condo. Get out and do some selling Kim. Link to comment

jnicholson 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Hey, Kim. I saw this base of this picture when you posted it and I thought it was pretty cool. But this...this is a true Slonaker. Nice job. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Wonderful elaboration, Kim. I loved the previous image, but this with the ship is really stunning. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted April 4, 2006 These work very well together. You are truly an artist. This one adds such "feeling" to both images. Super! Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Hi Kim: A clever and eye-catching composite which, as always, I find inpiring! Having spend a good part of my life photographing boats, I confess that the horizontal line (from the rust layer) passing through the trawler's rigging bothers me. I can't help but wonder if the scene wouldn't have a more balanced and "natural" feel if you elongated the rust layer so that the horizontal ridge could be shifted down to a position that corresponds to the trawler's waterline? This would surely make the old salts more comfortable, and I think also serve to better visually "unify" the two layers. I think... --jim Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 5, 2006 That's a good suggestion, Jim. I haven't finished playing with this yet. Thanks for commenting, everyone. Link to comment
