pjmeade 12 Posted April 2, 2006 Hello all, I have very little experience taking still life shots. I would welcome any suggestions or positive criticism. Thanks in advance for your comments. Link to comment
chicodovale 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Peter, very nice shoot. The composition, the colors, focus, everything is in harmony and equilibrium. Congratulations. 6/6 Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted April 2, 2006 The composition here is really appealing. I find it interesting that you chose to peel the lemon and include the ornate knife. The lighting you chose is interesting as well. Many still life works seem to have bright, crisp lighting whereas yours is softer and has many shadows. I think it works nicely here. Just my opinion. :) Leslie Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted April 2, 2006 Thanks for looking. I had used the peeled lemon in another image and wanted to use it again. I'm very fond of that pocket knife; it's made of juniper wood, which is very fragrent and of ebony. There is lots of brass too. I enjoyed looking at your work. Particularly the lighthouses and portraiture. Regards. Peter Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted April 5, 2006 Leslie has summarized it quite accurately. I find it also very appealing and soft. To me it also looks like a painting. I am also surprised of the sharpness and life of the fruits without any additives to enhance color and brightness as many of these images have had. Great shot. Link to comment
