salvatore.mele 1 Posted April 1, 2006 Once you made it to the mountain top, the last effort is to take the skins off your skis, before you can run down onto the virgin snow...with new glue, that might be hard work indeed! Your comments and criticism on this composite are most welcome! Link to comment
alice_guy 0 Posted April 1, 2006 I'm a big fan of photographs shot in series to relate a period of time or story. The only thing I'd mention I'm not so keen on here is that I feel the thick black border overwhelms it. So, more of a critique of the presentation rather than the actual photos. I think with a slighly less overpowering border the interplay between the red jacket and the nicely cold blue tones you have here would have more prominence. Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Nice series. The shadows and ski angles work well, as well as the simple colours and snow-to-sky tone transitions. I have been perfecting my technique for removing skins without removing my skis. The full-body immersion in the snow that often follows is unrelated, and is actually a deliberately intimate evaluation of the snow conditions. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 3, 2006 Amusing! I like the color scheme, the placement of the figure in the frame, and the wonderful diagonal formed by his shadow. Your timing of the separate shots in the series is perfect, too. By the way, I saw a photo today that you might like: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4288583 Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted April 3, 2006 New effort too to tell a story through successive images with one frame. Well done,Salvatore. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 5, 2006 A little movement story, with nice sequence. as there is no real landscape around the figur, she is the center of attention with the changes of shadow and her strong red. "clean" execution, Salvatore, good series. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 18, 2006 Salvatore, the red jacket agains the blue/gray background is terrific. That it stands out so nicely is what made this series work for me. Even from the thumbnail, I was able to get a sense of the action. Having never skied, I had no idea about removing skins from skis. Not only is it a nice series, I learned something. That's always a good thing! Link to comment
