salvatore.mele 1 Posted April 1, 2006 It's a bit too posed, isn't it? Still, I liked all the diagonal in the shot. What about you? Link to comment
delp 0 Posted April 1, 2006 yes, I do like it. This is not "just another mountain shot", it seems it tells a story. I am just a little worried by the blue cast; I guess my taste goes for warmer printouts. well done ! Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted April 2, 2006 Lionel, thanks. I actually think I just did a sloppy job when correcting the usual blue cast in this one... To re-process. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted April 3, 2006 I like the diagonal composition of the mountain. I don't the skier is too posed. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 18, 2006 Salvatore, the diagonal is terrific! Again, I love the red accent and now we have just a touch of yellow as well. I don't think the skier is too posed but I might like to see the foreground just a little lighter. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted April 25, 2006 A.K. Thanks! Laurie, that was posed as hell, but I am happy to see this still has some value. As for the yellow, those boots are definitly photogenic and I am quite happy with the result. The foreground is thin ice to play with...retaining some texture without blowing the highlights (and usually without even removing the gloves while handling the D70) is quite an effort. I usually prefer to err on the darkish side, rather than risking unusable washed out shots: I do check histogram on the field, but the viewing conditions (with sun glasses) are usually very poor.
