Rafik, I have a hard time getting decent woodpecker shots, too. This is really one of my only decent ones. Thanks for the opinions on this one.

You wouldn't think with all the dull gray weather we've just gone through up here that I could appreciate this, but I really like the lighting (or lack there of) on this. Cool mood/atmosphere. Sure, if you clone out the two branches that touch the bird, that would great, but it's so hard to get it to look natural because of the (in this case) brown fading to gray/blue. Nice one Kim. What time of day?

No it's not too busy. The background furnishes density and visual interest as well as structural balance. The muted colors, too, are gorgeous.
