bradkim 8 Posted April 1, 2006 Excellent bird shot as always, Kim.... The thin tree in the background works as a compositional element nicely! Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Rafik, I have a hard time getting decent woodpecker shots, too. This is really one of my only decent ones. Thanks for the opinions on this one. Link to comment
bryan olesen 0 Posted April 1, 2006 You wouldn't think with all the dull gray weather we've just gone through up here that I could appreciate this, but I really like the lighting (or lack there of) on this. Cool mood/atmosphere. Sure, if you clone out the two branches that touch the bird, that would great, but it's so hard to get it to look natural because of the (in this case) brown fading to gray/blue. Nice one Kim. kslonaker 0 Posted April 1, 2006 It was early afternoon, I believe. Kind of an overcast day, though. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted April 1, 2006 No it's not too busy. The background furnishes density and visual interest as well as structural balance. The muted colors, too, are gorgeous. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Clever to use of foreground & background, excellent control on the tone & exposure, and lovely details in picture are amazing, Kim!!! Best regards. Link to comment
