ainsa 0 Posted March 27, 2006 I like the photo itself and like too the way you play with the lines. IMHO this one would be perfect if the ice axe was made of wood. Nice photo anyway. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 28, 2006 Well, without reading your thoughts, my thought was "Almost there, just a little more." Composition works well, though not as dramatic as your others. The scale confuses me some, not understanding the vastness of this area. The polarizer effects are a bit strong. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted March 28, 2006 Giovanni, grazie!Ander, you gave me some ideas... I could try and purchase some old-looking ax with a wood shaft (there are couple places where these are still manifactured, mainly for easy large-group outings). I could get it battered a bit, then bring it with me to shot pictures to tone in sepia!Thai, indeed, the sense of scale is very confusing here, as this was shot from a ridge. this shot could give some deeper sense of the scale of the Dt.Blanche. It is mostly climbed from the other side. Link to comment

ainsa 0 Posted March 28, 2006 It woul be great if you changed your Gore-Tex and weared those old clothes we all know from teh past times, with some pitons hanging and those old (scary) ropes. But that would be too difficult!! Waiting to see your idea. ;-) Link to comment
ianflindt 0 Posted March 29, 2006 I love this image. I find the deep, saturated blue of the sky particularly appealing (although I know others may find it a little too rich). The frozen textures of the snow have been beautifully captured, and I love the concept of the axe - it underlines the theme! Link to comment
