dennisdixson 0 Posted March 25, 2006 I like this view very much. Since the Cloud Gate sculpture is so iconic, I am beginning to think about it with the same affection as the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This photograph does give me the impression of a gate or a gateway. Some people might not like the straight on centering but in this case I think it works very well to direct the viewers attention to the pattern of the clouds and the feeling of the static buildings verses the movement of the natural world. I wonder if a lower angle or camera position would be enough to eliminate that structure behind the sculpture in the center of the frame. In a way it looks like it is sitting on top of it. I like the effect of sky meeting sky, which is broken somewhat by that element. Others milage may vary, which is to say that it is a subjective preference and may not matter to other viewers.
