She's such a cute girl that I have to take her right up close and

personal. So natural too.

Great shot, Alec! Love the lighting and color. I'm saving up for the D200 and this just makes me want it more!

This is a WONDERFUL picture. A beautiful subject, and very well-lit. I think that I would bring the shadow level up more to bring out the rich, black hair and bring a bit more tone to the skin. Setting it to 19 seems nice to me, but that's just personal preference.

Alec, I like both versions of this image, but for some reason I like the colour version better, even if only slightly so. I like the lighting and particularly on her hair.

One of the best portraits I've seen lately! And such a lovely girl! Love the rest of your portfolio also. Great work!

Whoa! The fine detail of the D200 really lives up to its name. Great reflection in her eyes and nice skin tone. I would darken it a touch to bring out her nice brown skin tone. Now, lets see if I can find a different, but similar shot of this girl somewhere in my harddisk. ha ha!

Thanks guys, I didn't post this after the trip and waited till now before doing it. It does look straightforward but as I see the original in the monitor I was struck by the clean smooth simplicity of the face and smile of this sweet little girl. So I decided to crop and highlight this and tweaked it with levels control.

I was quite amazed with the overall result and glad you find it pleasing as well. Sometimes, on very rare occasion a plain simple head shot works very well. Thank you all very much for the comments, I will visit and check out your sites if I had not done so alreaady. Cheers.

Jim, Francesco much oblige. Popeye thank you for being one of the most sincere guys in PN. After having a fair share of phamtom raters it's so nice to hear fram a passionate photographer. Yes, this is one of my favorite 'unadulterated' image. Sometimes straight from the box can go head to head with the best rendered images. ^_^
