Rio Grande Bend

Magnificent view ! Colors and their reflection on the water are superb, nice lead-in. Maybe I would try out a slight crop at he bottom.

Ahoj Jana, I agree with Carsten about cropping away part of the foreground, perhaps for a square. I like the muted colors and how the shape of the near and distant mountains resemble each other. Best wishes, Peter

Ahoj Petre, Thanks for your idea, it is another way of seeing this place. I prefer the full image without the crop. As you may have noticed, I am a composition freak. In my uncropped version the river makes a diagonal , starts at left at about 1/3 from below and leaves the image at right about 1/3 from above. Also in this way , I let the river to have her deserved space around.

I remember the light and think that you have cptioned it well. The suggested crop is another improvement to this beautiful picture.

re: the crop comments - I like your original composition as it adds to the feeling of the distances involved in the scene. The light is great and you've captured the entire setting very well. I'll use your shots as inspiration as I plan a trip to the Big Bend sometime soon.
