Renovation

I find this to be an interesting photo (perhaps because I work in the construction industry). It makes me wonder why a company would demolish the building in the middle and take care not to damage outer buildings. Regardless, it makes me think, which is good.

This is one the older buildings of the central research lab for Philips Electronics (CD and DVD technologies were largely invented here). The building is currently being renovated, and they apparently decided to replace the dated paternoster elevator while renovating the the interior of the building. Probably paternoster elevators are nowadays considered hazardous.
