sambal 0 Posted March 21, 2006 Birte, this is a home-made scan of the original colour photo print which was not so nice as this one! Thus I left it like that. Thanks very much for your comments. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted April 1, 2006 Hello Sam, I agree with Birte, this has the look and colour of an old oil painting. It's a great shot of a beautiful region. I was there about 10 years ago and loved it. Did you go up the Puy du Dome? Best wishes. Pete Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted April 1, 2006 Beautiful mountain shot with nice "Van Gogh colors" in the foreground. --Lannie Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Peter, thank you very much for your appreciation. No, I haven't been on top of the Puy de Dome yet, although several times I've driven around it. This photo shows the Puy Mary in the background. A triangular fleck of snow can be seen, just under its summit. The view is from an eastern direction. The entire area on the photo is a small part of an enormous ancient volcano which has been eroded & reshaped also by glaciers during the Ice Ages. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Landrum, Yes, I am also astonished how this photo came out like a painting. Good to read you've appreciated this image of a wonderful region in France. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted May 24, 2007 ... will be going back this fall to shoot for about two weeks here alone. Will actually be a little more east than this, but what scenery and what churches! Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Dennis, this is a region where you can really be alone. Even a mobile phone doesn't work everywhere. Watch the weather, as it can change very quickly from agreeable & calm to wild & threatening. Thanks very much for your comments. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
