sarahunderhill 1 Posted March 20, 2006 Really, really good. I can never get a good b&w from color. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Thanks Sar...I've been reading about some techniques in a Photoshop magazine, and thought I would try a few experiments.... Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted March 20, 2006 One of the beaches here is called "the Oaks". It is a long climb down to the water's edge, but worth it. I decided to try a B&W conversion.... Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted March 21, 2006 Linda, whatever you did certainly worked. This looks great from here. Love the composition and the beach showing in the background. Hope the storm is away from you and Roger. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted March 21, 2006 CJ...I appreciate your concern. We are nowhere near Larry, thank goodness. Kim...thanks for the visit! Link to comment

jim wrightwood 0 Posted March 24, 2006 Beautiful shot. This image conveys a sense of place and emotion. So what if it has been done before. What has not these days. -JWrightwood Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted March 24, 2006 Ken...appropriate correction...most of the rock formations here look like they could have come from the moon!! Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted March 25, 2006 Well that was my 1st thought ... even the Sea of *Occasional* Tranquility . As for the image - the only thing I'd change would be to tone down either the highlights and/or the contrast just a touch - not much - it has an 'edge' to it that makes me want to squint - or is that age ? ..... )-; The detail is excellent - especially in the water. Interesting tonal range - by that I mean the interesting shade of gray sky - complimenting the sea and *moon* tones. Remarkable too, that you captured the exact moment Roger splashed into the sea - trying to feed those damn sea turtles again Link to comment
jim wrightwood 0 Posted March 26, 2006 Ah. OK. I get the moon thing. I missunderstood Ken's comment. -JWrightwood Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted March 26, 2006 Dear LLLLLLLLLLLinda, what a great and EXCELLENT picture, I didn't have any association with the moon when I saw this, but now I have because of Ken. And we are both in B&W as you told me in a comment, and we both are busy, I am working also in a house, I have a new appartment(painting, cleaning, decorating and more, first of april I have to change houses), so almost no time for PN, but we both explore and learn, don't we special woman. Big kisssss, Els Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 26, 2006 Beautiful shot, Linda. Reminds me of what you'd see on a night-time stroll on the beach (not that I ever stroll on the beach at night-time!!). Link to comment
