Very creative and mastery over the medium. This would make a great cover for a book. The look on the childs face is compelling.

I am not sure the title works with this image. For me, there is a disconnect. I will look again tomorrow to see if I react differently.

I love this piece, it is simply beautiful. The only thing that bothers me is the plant growing from her lip and the stalk of the same plant that goes into her nasal passage. The dark tone of the nasal passage makes it look like the plant is going inside and for some reason that disturbs me.

Actually, Howard, my first concept with this one was that it portrayed a missing child. But I thought that was too dark, so renamed it, although this title could also imply that. Donald, I went back and forth with the plant around the nose and finally left it the way it is. When it wasn't in its entirety, it didn't look right to me. When doing these, if you leave too much of the background not coming through, it doesn't seem to work. Anyway, just experimenting, so thanks for all the comments and opinions.

I like the title, because this strikes me as a bit of a creepy image, sort of sinister. She looks frightened, and there she is seeking protection from that dark tangle of brush, all alone...something that normally would frighten a child all by itself, and she's seeking protection in it from something that's worse...that's my reaction, anyway! And yes, you could definitely do book covers!

This is a very powerful & thought provoking image. The color luminescence is beautiful. The blending of the images work well. I don't find the images transposed on the face as a problem. It implies the child is hidden. Powerful :)

I can think of several titles. Ranging from adolescent confusion, runaways, abducted children, parental guidance, etc. What I see in her eyes is "questioning?" or "searching" for something. The lips are so perfect, beautiful full lips.

I might title this "The Lost". Let the viewer use their imagination as to what kind of lost. Physically lost?, emotionally lost?, mentally lost?. I like this immensely. Are you going to put this in the art show? You should! Super :)

Another compelling composition, the title works well, and alot of the other titles are equally compelling. This is a very thought provoking image with an incredible sense of feelings. Well done!

Thanks to all of you. Jayme, I already had 3 images for the Art Show, but I am toying with printing this one out and seeing how it looks framed. I think I will want it with a large mat around it. The print size I worked on is 12"x12". I have a couple more weeks before the entries are due, so I'll likely change my mind a few times before submitting my entries. Jayme, I like what you've been doing with the compilations on your posts!

Please help me...the girl is screaming. IMO a perfect title Kim. If I were a judge at the show this would certainly rank highly. The light and blend of colors are very compelling. I would love to see the finished product that you chose.

I did print this out and will mat and frame it, then decide. I already have my 3 entries for the show, so it will mean replacing one of them with this one and I can't decide which one. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for all the input - making me lean towards entering this one.

Kim, I have had one problem with this one and it is the dark area above her eyes.It still is, but I like very much the way you have composed it with her expression and the nature around her. I think that a bit

more light above her eyes will do it for me. Good luck ( exhibition), it is creative.

A very compelling image. . . it really draws you in and makes you stop to reflect. . I think you have done an excellent job with the overlay. . . I'm not sure about the title, but it is your image, and everyone brings something different to it. . . to me I get a sense of wondering or questioning. . . it works for me aesthetically in terms of toning and composition. . . great work and good luck with the show. . .

Pnina, dark area is the hair hanging in her eyes. Will attach the image of Sydney I started with. It was one of the oil effects I had done. Donna, I am leaning towards the title "Lost" if I do enter this one in the exhibit, as suggested by Jayme (removing "the").

I personally like the original version. It is filled with life and energy. I must agree with Pnina that the dark spots are a tad harsh.

Wonderful creation, Kim. ( Ilove the original portrait, too.) I read it as a double warning: protect the children and nature.

Fantastic idea and perfectly done. The image is so pleasant that I can look at it for a long while... A shot to remember.
