It's a little more than a year since I saw these elegant birds myself in FL. There were so many nestling in some big trees in an aligator farm and it was an amazing sight. I was told they particularly were living there because the aligators gave them natural protection against enemies.... but of course you know all this ..smile.

 

It's a vey lovely photo in the right of moment of the big bird going down. Nice colors. Congrats.

Bente, it is an amazing sight. . I saw it for the first time this spring here in TX . . . these birds are on an island in a lake protected, as you said, by alligators who, in turn, are waiting for an egg or a baby bird to fall into the water. . . nature is both beautiful and cruel. . .
