petusik 0 Posted March 17, 2006 I know this should go to digital alterations but it's also architecture. Let's say it's digitally altered architecture. Feel free to comment a rate. Cheers, Peter Link to comment
JRX94 0 Posted March 17, 2006 nice picture overall, but - speaking of digital alteration - why didn't you stamp this crane in the background ? Link to comment
fridolin 0 Posted March 17, 2006 I have to give Jay my consent regarding the alterations. Have you been so overwhelmed by the HDR capabilities of your software that you forgot some retouching on your picture? The crane, the red traffic sign, some blue construction equipmet and even the building in the left edge are disturbing. Furthermore, I have the impression that the picture is tilted very slightly towards the left. Besides this, it is an impressioning, gloomily composition. 6 for originality / 4 for aesthetics. Thanks for sharing Link to comment
petusik 0 Posted March 17, 2006 I did not want to remove anything from this compo. It is as it is in nature. I just increased the dynamic range of the picture. That's it. Thanx for your comments. Link to comment
albertdarmali 1 Posted March 17, 2006 I actually think the blue sign adds something to the picture. Without it (and some other colour), it would look too pale and boring. But I agree about losing the crane (and maybe the branch) and tilting the picture slightly to the right though (a few degreees). But overall, it's a very nice picture indeed. Very eye-catching. Albert. PS: Did you try slower shutter speed? Link to comment
petusik 0 Posted March 17, 2006 this is a composite of 4 images taken at different shutter speeds. Basically I did +2, 0, -2, -3EV. The crane belongs to the scenery. Berlin is a continuously growing city, you have building sites almost everywhere. Surely, it would look better without it, but it would not be true. Cheers, Peter Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Hi, Peter, excellent capture with beautiful cityscape, love the perfect details, nicely color tone & composition, very artistic & effective, looks like a painting!!! Best regards. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted March 19, 2006 I happen to like the elements that other object to. Instead of the constant striving to make all of these images look like depressing pseudodart of some mysterious Kafkaesque bygone era, they lend a look of credibility. The construction crane (Which, since WWII, should be in the German Flag as their REAL national emblem) looks just fine. But; How about straightening the image up before all of water runs to one side and the whole thing capsizes.. Link to comment
petusik 0 Posted March 20, 2006 tilted 1 degree CW! I think it's better now. Thanx for your comment. Link to comment
