Guest Guest Posted March 14, 2006 Nice subtle on the peak and reflection. There are two reasons why this manipulation does not work. The first is that the lighting on the peak and the moon doesn't match. The second is that the reflection of the moon needs to be flipped 180 degrees vertically; otherwise, the reflection looks like a cut and paste instead of a true reflection where things seem up-side-down. jannis 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Thank you for your attention and yes you are absolutely right about the reflection of the moon;) Regarding the lighting on the peak of the mountain and on the moon this is not very unrealistic as I have seen sceneries like this in reality where a mountain and the arising moon behind it have been illuminated by the late evening sunlight the general lighting looks different in reality but this is supposed to be a kind of a surrealistic (in a way) landscape unfortunately there is no proper section for this kind of pictures best yannis Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 14, 2006 In the spirit of continuing the discussion..... The light and shadow on the peak suggest that the sun is somewhere on the right side. The light on the moon suggests that the sun is about 90 degrees out of phase, the position where I'm viewing the image. Without paying attention to details, your intention of a surreal image seems to work. How about adding some misty clouds too? Link to comment
jannis 0 Posted March 14, 2006 thank you for continuing the interesting discussionAs a matter of fact the picture of the moon I took about a year ago shortly after the sun set and yes indeed the sun was going down on the oposite side of the rising moonThe picture of the reflected mountain I took a few weeks ago during sun setThe sun was going down behind me and a bit on the right and this was the last light on the peak of the mountain before the sun disappeared behind a mountain which was behind me.The mountain you see on this picture is situated in the eastthe sun rises on the right side of this mountain Link to comment
