waltchapman 0 Posted March 14, 2006 This has been heavily worked in PS. It is of 3 aircraft on a flightline. Any comments and or suggestions. Is it to dark? Does it show enough detail to the viewer? Thanks Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted March 14, 2006 I like the clouds, not sure about the stars. Nice image. Link to comment
waltchapman 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Thanks for the input. I'll try and hold off on the frames but the pic's just look out of place to me without one around them. The stars were just dots the best I could come up with. Did try varing the color white/blues etc. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Hi Walt, Sorry to be so brief, I was rating recent. About the stars, since you said you did a lot of ps with it... they seem a bit bright compared to the light on the airplane and in a night photo like this I am accustomed to seeing some movement trail from a long exposure in the stars. It is a really beautiful and unusual image that makes me want to go shoot airplanes at night ;) Link to comment
waltchapman 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Becky sorry to say this but it is not a night shot. See the pic attached this is the original. It was taken about 11 am. I used the light filter on ps to give the moonlite effect. Used a mask and polished up the dark areas for what would reflect light at night. The stars are just that dots, I even tried to put in the constellation Orion on the right side to enhance the effect. Thanks for viewing and the comments. Link to comment
giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted August 10, 2006 indeed this is a very effective ps rendering... clouds are ok, stars are the reason the postprocessing is immediately evident... they are too bright, and the are not following earth rotation.. since it is *presumed* to be a nightshot, and apparent light seems to arrive from a very low moon, even if the image was underexposed, the stars should present a little motion at least... aside that i like the very dark tone of the image... it forces to look deep into it and search for elements on what is going on... probably the biggest difficulty with this image would be to actually print it correctly... general dark tones are not very well rendered by inkjet printers... i wonder if you tried to print it and with which results... kindest regards. g. waltchapman 0 Posted August 12, 2006 Giuseppe; When Blown up to it's full print size of 20x16 it's a very good picture. But the chance of getting it ever printed is almost impossible. The black is to overwelming. Have tried several times to get it done. The actual pic was taken in true daylight at around 11:00 am the sun was high in the left hand corner which allowed the shadows to blend with a sense of partially covered moon or an emerging moon. The stars were just something to fill a black void. The clouds were cut and pasted from another picture then sized and blended to add some depth to an otherwise empty black sky. Thanks for the input and for looking. Link to comment
