A rainy sky in Martinique

I know there is nothing really interesting in this photo but I like

this rainy sky. I took the photo from the car on the road to Fort-de-

France, the last day of our stay. Thank you to rate and, even if you

think it is not a good photo, thank you to comment.

I think this picture has a lot of potential. In addition to this wide angle capture giving sense of location, I would have tried getting closer to the horse. IMHO, the horse is too small to draw enough attention. Or alternatively, to draw more focus to the horse -at this scale, the landscape needs to be cleaned, I'd dare to say almost solid color with few details.

of course this was quick and dirty, but i tink this one has potential indeed.

I adjusted levels, made a contrast mask and toned it down again a bit with levels. taking the time for this will sure give better results then i achieved. regards, Hans

I love the lighting changes across the image, and how the trees seem to be growing out from the same point on the left that the clouds and light spread out from. The colours are pleasing too. The only thing is I'm not sure about the placement of the white animal in the frame.

Mehmet, you are right about to get closer to the horse. That is what I would have done if I were on foot. As I say in the request, I took the photo from the car on the road. And there was no question of ask my wife for stop the car. You don't know my wife! On the other hand, you are wrong about the horse. It is a cow.

Hans, your suggestion is good but it is different. This is no more a rainy sky. Too much sun. The Martinique is a very sunny island, but even though, it often rains, with a very dark sky, and this is what I wanted to show.

Lucy, I agree with you, the cow is too much centered. But, as I explain above and to Mehmet, I took the shot from the car, very quickly. I know this is not the best way to take photos but I often do this with the hope that one or two shots could be not so bad.
