peter bernik 0 Posted March 12, 2006 You really surprised me with this one. Unusual subject (for you to take)...OK, let's get to the photo. I don't like it, it's techincally very poor, no sharpness (I don't what you focused on), snow has some unusual green textures and I can't make any sense of composition. Coming from you, it's a dissapointment, because I relly like your work otherwise (I left a few comments on your photos and on your portfolio). Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 12, 2006 Peter, your comment in interesting and well received. This isn't an unusual photograph for me to take but it is an unusual photograph for me to post. This is actually the 2nd image of this type I uploaded this morning. I deleted the first one. I hear what you say about the lack of sharpness and I think I know what is causing this. It is actually snowing quite heavily which is causing a 'blur mask' in front of the main subject. f20 at 0.8s. This isn't so evident in the full size image. The focus is on the tree. (In any case, I have changed the photo to one that was taken after the snow stopped!) I don't see the green snow that you refer to. Thanks for taking the time. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 13, 2006 Owen, It most certainly is. Edwin, I most certainly am! Thank you both! Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Where did you go? So very different, I keep looking behind the tree for someone. Nice winter shot. Alex Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 15, 2006 Don't worry Alex! There is a naked girl hiding behind the tree. She was just a little shy! Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted December 11, 2013 Hi David-I know there was a girl behind the tree cause I was there & when I heard you working your way round the huge tree I buried myself in the snow. Us Canadians love the snow-Ross Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 11, 2013 Yes! I know you Canadians are strange! Thanks for the look and comment. Link to comment
