This is a little detail of an old castle wall.

Nicely done ...

Very good, Ada, to outline it and leave all white surround like that. It really emphasizes the texture of the bricks and the lock. Did you add the diagonal element of the branch? Wonderful!

Ik ben gek op dit soort details Ada, prachtig. het roestige slot is net een mandje (wat onder een luchtballon hangt)met een hoofd erboven uit.

 

De stok breekt het geheel mooi en dat het roestige slot bijna verdijnt door dezelfde kleuren van de steen, maakt het nog interessanter.

Els, naast je perfecte oog voor detail heb je ook nog eens een geweldig voorstellingsvermogen (maar ja, dat wist ik natuurlijk ook allang). Het mandje onder de ballon met zelfs de vaarder er in had ik er nog niet in gezien. Maar nu jij het zegt, zie ik het ook! En die roestkleur ja dat is zo mooi he? Ik kan daar ook nooit genoeg van krijgen. Bedankt voor je mooie bijdrage, lieve Els!:~)

Wonderful detail, Ada. I love the rusted out lock. It matches so well against the color of the bricks without being swallowed up by them. And the edge of the wooden doorframe on the right frames your image very nicely! Great work!

Hi Lou Ann! Nice to see you and to read your comment. I'm glad you like this detail. The wood at the right isn't a doorframe it's the frame for leading the climbers. The whole castle wall is boarded with this thin slats. But in the spring and summertime the wall becomes completey covered by the blossoming bunches which presents a wonderful view of all different kind of colours and it smells so delicious. Excellent detail, Ada. Love the surrounding white and how the opening is three times locked: the bricks, the lock, the log. Very well rendered indeed.

Hoi Bram, leuk je weer te zien. Ja, het staat een beetje vreemd dat geef ik toe dat slot op die muur maar even links ervan zit een poort (heb je vast al eens gezien in een van mijn andere foto's). Meestal (nu dus net even niet) zit de poort op slot met een stevige ketting omdat het eigenlijk levensgevaarlijk is om de poort open te doen. De muur is namelijk zo gammel dat hij op instorten staat. Aan de achterzijde is ie gestut. Dat verklaart veel he? Ik ben blij dat je het een mooi plaatje vindt.
