Hi, Parvin,

Compositionally, this seems to be one of the most complex in your portfolio. It holds together nicely because of the dark background and the boys' arms making a triangle shape in the middle. The best part is the boy whose face is cropped in the corner, as it gives the picture its "street" feel. Just found this site. I can see where commenting on new photos as they pop up can get quite addicting here...

I like the idea and the subject very much. I have a similar set of photographs depicting joyous Chinese school children that I have yet to post. The only thing that really detracts is that the photo was taken with flash, which sort of kills the atmosphere to a degree. Under ambient light, it would be great. I understand that it could have been taken outside in the dead of night, where you would have no other option other than to use flash, so that being said, it's still pretty damn good at capturing the "joy" amongst the youth.

i agree with u that this kind of a picture taken in the day wud have a different atmosphere and yes these were taken in the night with flash which i guess helps in isolating them a bit from their surroundings(which might be different from the usual aim of street photography).look forward to u posting ur street photographs.

I had seen a documentary a while back on a great photographer who said he always found figure-eights (or infinity symbols on their sides) in his photographs, even when he wasn't thinking about it. He said all photographers have a thematic shape they gravitate towards. I think it was Ray Metzker.... http://www.laurencemillergallery.com/rkmlist.htm
