Is this an all too common type of image on PN?

Thanks for all comments/critiques/Ratings.

Robert,

I don't think its too common. In fact, I think your presentation here is quite interesting and unique. Very well composed, and I like the look of the branches (almost like fractals).

Good work.

This photo says family to me. I like the composition and simplicity of it. I also like the way the right is leaning in toward to child in a kind of protective manner.

Was that the idea or am I reading too much into it?

Thanks for all the comnments. Dave - I did not see the relationship you mentioned until after I took the shot. My first impression was that the child was being scolded. Wonder what Freud would say about that.

Robert,Excellent shot! I can totally see what you mean about the child being scolded. Its great. I have one minor suggestion and it might just be my personal preference. I do not like to see total white on the borders. I see the frame start with the black land and then it blends in with the matte. I would adjust te levels so that level 255 turns into level 250 or so. That way the eye can make out the entire picture frame.

That being said this image is still a 6/7 in my book!

Drew,

Thanks for the comments. My original intent was to do something similar to your suggestion, but when I was fooling around with different options, this appealed to me more. I like the ground forming an orthogonal base but moving up into an area with no discernable border. It gives an appearance of a cut-out, rather than a full image. Just comes down to a personal preference. Thanks again for your comments.

I love the gradient and I love the actual composition (although I can't help but think of Ents from the Lord of the Rings). Anyway, it's original and not too common. Great job. The only thing I would change is in the frame. I like the frame at the top but I don't care for the way the ground gets chopped off at each side. The frame isn't obvious enough and it turns your trees into bonsais. Other than that quibble, it's wonderful.
