It was photographed in Timbuktu small Museum( one room) that hosts only old Koran books as well as some old medical books. It is as well a "madrassa", a school for Islamic studies.

Peta, some of these books are very old from the 12th century and onward. very beautiful written and decorated, and well kept.

I love to see texture of these old papers. Letters and patterns are quite beautiful.

 

One advanced point of Mali is that they permit shooting in museum. In many cases, it can't be in our country :<
