Being snow, sticks and shadows, this was nearly black and white

anyway. However, I opted to convert it and to try and deepen the

shadows a bit with levels. Did this come out ok? Something about

this monitor leaves me feeling like maybe there's a little color

tinge to it (green maybe?). Anyway, any thoughts, ratings or

suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks in advance

One of the better images like this I've seen. Love the random nature of the stalks and the low angle shadows. Really very well done.

I can't see any green tint. It's a fine b&w and that mix of shadows and light looks great giving texture and depth to the snow. The composition is simple and effective, the way I like it. Really nice job and I can imagine how good a big print of this would look in any wall. Congrats and regards, Alex

This is beautiful, Jeff. I like everything about it, from the shadowplay on the velvety snow, from the distant sticks to the foremost diagonal shadow. Congrats on a very fine photograph.

NICE. Composition and texture are very captivating. This is the first photo that caught my eye when I looked at your portfolio. Deserves 7s, but I wasn't allowed to rate that high.

Very nice soft tones with wonderful composition. Right now as I sit here in the heat of summer this is a very cooling and inviting image. Great B&W work! Todd

Thanks Todd! Glad to see you didn't take the "Todd shoots film" comment the wrong way :-)

Speaking of summer heat, parts of your portfolio make me think you might be a suffering through a Bay Area heat wave along with the rest of us. Where do you call home?

Hello Jeff, I would never take the "Todd shoots film" comment the wrong way. I am proud of the fact that I am shooting film, however I do feel as if I am at somewhat of a loss in not being able to participate in the benefits that digital has to offer........yet! I will some day, though it doesn't come easy to a semi hungry artist!

I would definetly be quite honored to have my work in a show with yours and Jack's, and Kent's. We shall be in touch! Regards, Todd

Thanks for the critique!

I LOVE this photo. It's so pretty, and it almost looks like you made a little version out of icecream and sticks, or something to that affect. I'm very ameteur , so I don't have anything that sounds professional to say. Sorry, ha...

what a nice and simple image. the eyecatching thing about it is the curve that is described by the dead wood, it takes you on a ride through the picture. very good effort, keep it up.

PS thanks for posting on my pic, use the trick on your next holidays if you feel like it. i was inspired by lars raun, who uses this trick quite often.
