gdw 0 Posted March 4, 2006 One of my many projectsthe Movement Series. Forty years ago I took a series of photographs hoping to convey the idea of the body in motion. Some were minimally okay but not what I was hoping. A year or so ago I digitized a few of the images and one day found that I had inadvertently saved one of my extreme manipulations in the same folder. That started a new series of combining the old images with new images. The end result is much closer to what I had wanted to do forty years ago. Its just a project for my own entertainment and truthfully, I am enjoying it. Hope you may find it of some interest. Link to comment
Phil_Light 793 Posted March 4, 2006 Very abstract-expressionist! So painting like! I really like this effect and the visible digital brush strokes. Art with a computer absolutely astounding as to what digital tools can accomplish. This is really beautiful and striking. I think you have succeeded handily. Link to comment

gdw 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, Michael you can not beat a Leice grin. Lin there are more than you will problably want to see on my page under More Movement Manipulations. Glad you enjoyed this. I had wanted to capture the feeling of movement with the original images but was not as successful as I had wanted to be. Had to wait until the computer could do it for me. Link to comment

stephan dietrich 0 Posted March 9, 2006 Gary: Your blast to the past is commendable, especially after 40 years. Incorporating your past talents / images and incorporating them back into your present talent with digital technology ... you definitely brought everything back to life. The vibrant and vivid colors are intense. Great abstract, definition, depth and detail. Thanks for sharing. Perfect 7s! Link to comment

andrew_sacco 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Very nice Gary. I like this a lot, and I usually prefer more traditional/literal expressions of photographic art. Very, very well done! Link to comment
zs- 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Reminds me of how I saw life and colors at the age of 5. The world back then felt just like this. Your photo is strikingly vibrant and enchanting. Perfect, as is. Thank you for sharing. Link to comment
