Really nice, Kim. I really like the tight crop on this one. Good background...you're always very good about projecting your subject forward from any clutter or distractions. Focus is right on, too. Well done.

Thanks, guys. Keith, a bad background can ruin any shot in a big hurry, so I try to move my position, if necessary, to get the best angle. Of course, sometimes you just have to take what you can (especially with birds) and try to do something later.

I love the DOF on this one. And, for some reason, in this one, I don't mind that he's facing the other way. The close crop works very well!!

There really is NO challenge to getting pelican shots here, Howard. When the shrimp boats come in, they are around by the dozens! They are such clumsy characters!

Yes, this is the best I have seen in this kind of portrait, also love the light, sharpness, very natural of the colors & nicely cropping, well done Kim!!! Congrats.

Another beautiful image Kim, love how the beak leads to the eye and that cuddly white head. Great lens work.

It's hard to keep the white from getting blown out, especially when there is a dark, contrasting color on the same bird.

I like the way of its posture in the frame, has grace in it. light and dof are well done. The yellow on its head makes it a vivid image.

Very nice closeup, Kim, with very pleasing detail and a nice bg. I like the composition too; it's different.
